Charles Armstrong Parent School Organization

CAPSO stands for Charles Armstrong Parent School Organization. We are your fellow parents that run the PTA of Charles Armstrong School. We provide the volunteers to help Charles Armstrong build community and raise funds to enhance the learning experience provided by Armstrong. CAPSO produces social and fundraising events and is the easiest way to become a proactive part of the Armstrong parent community.

Volunteering with CAPSO

Volunteering at Armstrong is both rewarding and necessary.  It is a great way to feel connected to the community.  There are countless ways to volunteer – some on-campus, some off-campus, some from home on your own time. There are opportunities to volunteer at school wide events – e.g. Book Fair, Jog-A Thon, Founder's Day -- in addition to campus opportunities throughout the year (e.g. art room, class parties, library).  Armstrong encourages each family to donate volunteer hours - 20 hours per year for each two parent family, 10 hours per year for each single parent family. Please email our Volunteer Wrangler at with any questions.

Armstrong Online Parent Group

Have you joined the Armstrong parent group?Heard the news? CAPSO just launched a new-and-improved email group using This will replace our outdated Armstrong Yahoo Group. This is an email sharing space for our parent community, run by CAPSO volunteers. Follow this link to get connected to our wonderful Armstrong families. It’s super easy to join.

Fundraising Events
CAPSO has two fundraising events during the school year. The money from these events goes directly to fund classroom activities and support the teachers and staff with parties, teacher gifts, lunches, etc. All proceeds from the Book Fair go directly to the Armstrong library.

Jog-A-Thon:October 31st
Armstrong Halloween tradition is truly beloved by students as they run/jog/dance laps collecting colored hairspray, leis, stickers, and most importantly lots and lots of laughs! This is the one time CAPSO will ask you for a donation to help support our teachers, staff and your Children! CAPSO funds schoolwide and classroom activities and supports the teachers and staff with parties, gift, and lunches.

Book Fair: October 25th – October 31st
The Book Fair is held annually at Charles Armstrong School. All proceeds directly benefit the Charles Armstrong School library. Parents can sign up to volunteer, browse books being offered or gift books to a teacher. You can also print a Pre-Paid Certificate and return with check/cash to Student Serivces. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Amazon Smile

The eScrip program provides a very easy way to give. When you sign up for eScrip, a percentage of your grocery loyalty cards, credit cards, and debit/ATM purchases are given to the school. 100% of the eScrip proceeds are deposited into the Charles Armstrong Parent School Organization (CAPSO) bank. This means that 100% of your eScrip contribution directly supports the classroom.
