Where do I find the most current information about school events?

On the Armstrong website, www.charlesarmstrong.org -- please click on the menu item marked Parents then Armstrong Calendar.

What is the preferred method of communication with the administration, faculty and staff at Armstrong?

We prefer email (use the first letter of person's first name followed by the full last name, and @charlesarmstrong.org – for example, Sally Wilson's email would be swilson@charlesarmstrong.org.

When contacting your child's classroom teachers, you can email all of them by using the following address – for example, room09teachers@charlesarmstrong.org.

I would like to make a donation to the school and/or volunteer at one of the fundraising events, whom should I contact?

For donations, please contact our Director of Development, Cynthia Funai at 592-7570 x1206 or via email at cwolfefunai@charlesarmstrong.org.

What is CAPSO?

It is the Charles Armstrong Parent School Organization which is the parent organization for the school. To find out more please click on the menu item marked Parents then CAPSO.

How do I log my Volunteer Hours?

Please click on the menu item marked Parents then CAPSO to click the link marked Log Volunteer Hours.  You must complete and submit the form online. You will receive a statement three times a year showing your completed hours and offering suggestions for completing hours. The statements will only reflect the hours you have submitted.

Where can I find the Admission Office?

 The Admission Office is located in Room 1. However, please stop in Student Services first before going to the Admissions Office. 

Where can I find the Business Office?

The Business Office is located on the lower level.

Whom do I contact regarding billing inquiries?

Please contact the Madonna Uyenoyama, Business Office Associate, via email at muyenoyama@charlesarmstrong.org or voicemail at x1228.

If I have an issue or concern regarding my child's classroom or grades/report cards to whom would I speak?

Please contact the classroom homeroom teachers directly via email (for example, room09teachers@charlesarmstrong.org).

With whom should I discuss my child's report card/grades?

Where would I find a list of recommended tutors?

Please click on the menu item marked Parents then Parent Resources. The tutor list is available under the title General Information.

With whom can I speak with regarding the hot lunch program?

Who do I call if my child is absent?

Please leave a voicemail at x1 stating your child's full name, his/her homeroom teacher's name and reason for absence. You should also leave a voicemail or email message for student's teachers.

When I come on the school campus, where do I go?

All visitors must first go to Student Services to sign in and obtain a Visitor Pass.

If I need to pick up my child early from school, what should I do?

Please email your child's homeroom teachers (for example, room09teachers@charlesarmstrong.org). When you come on campus go to Student Services to obtain a Visitor Pass and sign out your child. Please do not go directly to the classroom to pick up your child. All students must be signed out in Student Services before leaving campus.

Where is the Before & After School Care located?

The Before & After School Care program is located in the Library. If you have questions about Before & After School Care, please contact Laura Fabela, lfabela@charlesarmstrong.org or x1204.

Whom can I contact regarding questions about the sports program at Armstrong?

Where are Lost & Found items kept?

The school keeps clothing and other large items in a plastic container near the drop-off area (outside the PE office). Small items are kept in Student Services.

I'm having difficulty connecting with a 'live' person when I call the school. Is there an extension that will connect me with someone?

Please dial x1204 and you will usually be connected with a live person.

What are the school hours?

First bell rings at 8:10am and students are expected to be in their classrooms at 8:15am. If students arrive after 8:15am they must go first to Student Services to obtain a Tardy Slip. (It is not necessary for parent to accompany the student.) Dismissal time is 3:00pm for Lower School and 3:15pm for Middle School. Every Wednesday dismissal for Lower School is at 12:45pm and Middle School at 1:00pm.

Where can I park when I come to see someone at Armstrong?

All visitors must adhere to our parking restrictions. Always enter at the first driveway where you can see the McDougal Park sign and visitor parking is immediately to the left. The overflow parking area located on the lower blacktop. You are never allowed to park on the street or in the upper parking lot off Solana Drive.

What is the Uniform Bank?

The Uniform Bank is made up of used and outgrown articles of uniform clothing donated by parents. Donations should be clean and still in good condition. Please do not bring soiled and torn clothing and clothing that is not part of our uniform code. Donations can be delivered to Student Services. Parent volunteers sort and arrange clothing to be put out on the days when many parents are expected to be on campus. Those times will be given in the Weekly Bulletin. Parents can take anything from the Uniform Bank free of charge.

Where can i find information about carpool and transportation to school?

Charles Armstrong School does not contract directly for transportation services to or from school other than specific school sponsored events such as field trips; Armstrong does not endorse, recommend, or refer any transportation service providers to Armstrong parents; Armstrong urges parents to exercise caution when choosing any method of transportation for their children. If parents choose to use a private transportation, van pool, livery, or other similar service to get their children to school, Charles Armstrong School suggests that they take steps to ascertain whether the company they use has all of the appropriate licenses and insurance coverage for the business itself and its drivers.
