Omar Aguilar

Omar Aguilar is the parent of an Armstrong alum. Omar joined the Board in 2020 and currently serves on the Finance Committee. He has seen through experience with his daughter how the Charles Armstrong School changes students’ lives. He enjoys supporting the school’s mission and believes that there is an opportunity to reach more families who can benefit from a Charles Armstrong education. Omar has more than 25 years of broad investment management experience in the equity markets, including managing index, quantitative equity, asset allocation, and multi-manager strategies. He is Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Schwab Asset Management, responsible for leading, developing, and overseeing all investment strategies for the firm. Omar serves on the Menlo School Board and the Duke University Graduate School Board. Omar was a Fulbright Scholar at Duke University’s Institute of Statistics and Decisions Sciences where he earned a Master of Science and a doctorate. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in actuarial sciences and a graduate degree in applied statistics from the Mexico Autonomous Institute of Technology. Omar and his family live in Portola Valley.
