Kelly Sortino

Kelly Sortino is the Head of School at Crystal Springs Uplands School. She joined Crystal in 2009 as the Director of College Counseling and was the Head of Upper School from 2012-2019 before being named Crystal’s seventh Head of School in 2019 following an extensive international search. Prior to joining Crystal, Kelly was an English teacher, an admissions officer at Princeton, a consultant at Boston Consulting Group, and an intern at Google. She has served on several non-for-profit boards and advisory committees, including Peninsula Bridge, the Carey School, and the diSiac Dance Company Alumni Board. Kelly holds an M.B.A. and M.A.Ed from Stanford University, where she was a Jack Kent Cooke Scholar, and an A.B. in art history and certificate in teacher preparation from Princeton University, where she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Kelly lives on Crystal’s Upper School campus with her husband, Andrew Malcolm, their two children, Mac and Sibby, and their dog, Teddy. Kelly is inspired by Armstrong's mission, given her oldest child has dyslexia and has attended Armstrong's summer program. Kelly is excited to contribute to Armstrong's Board and support Armstrong's exceptional leadership team.
